Frequently Asked Questions

What is TECHTRADE's brokerage charge?
TECHTRADE charges ₹5 per executed order or 0.03% of turnover, whichever is lower. The same rate applies across equity delivery, intraday, futures, options and commodity trades, so the maximum brokerage you pay on any single order is ₹5.
Is brokerage the same for delivery and intraday?
Yes. Unlike brokers who price delivery and intraday differently, TECHTRADE applies the same ₹5 per executed order or 0.03% structure across both. The lower of the two is charged on every order.
What other charges apply besides brokerage?
Statutory and exchange charges apply on every trade: Securities Transaction Tax, exchange turnover charges, GST on brokerage and transaction charges, SEBI turnover fees, and stamp duty. These are set by the government and exchanges, not by TECHTRADE.
Are there hidden charges?
No. All charges are disclosed upfront: brokerage, statutory charges, and any applicable depository or subscription fees. A full schedule of charges is published on the pricing page and in your contract note after every trade.
Are there charges for holding shares?
Holding shares itself is free. The annual maintenance charge covers the upkeep of your demat account regardless of how many shares you hold or how often you trade.
How is brokerage calculated on a partially executed order?
Brokerage applies per executed order, not per attempt. If an order executes in multiple parts within the same trading day under a single order ID, it is treated as one executed order for brokerage purposes.
What is STT and who sets it?
Securities Transaction Tax is a central government levy on securities transactions. Rates differ by segment and by whether the trade is delivery, intraday or derivatives. STT is collected by the broker and paid to the government Via Exchanges
Do charges differ for the mobile app and the web platform?
No. Brokerage and statutory charges are identical across all TECHTRADE platforms — the mobile app, the web platform and the desktop terminal.
Where can I see all charges for a completed trade?
Every trade generates a contract note showing brokerage, each statutory charge and the net amount separately. Contract notes are emailed to your registered address and available for download from your account.
